Soul. The riff starts, resting on a note, selflessly helping out the chord. Calmly, it explores its surroundings, searching quickly up and down for an innovative expression. Then it launches skyward, pausing along the way to point out an intricacy or to make a subtle point, and at its apex it has expressed the meaning of the song that cannot be put into words. As it descends and allows the song to march forward bestowed with new meaning, its owner, confident and agile, takes it under his wing once more and continues his journey, leaving his awed audience no choice but to join him. And Paul welcomes them and shows them what they've been missing all their lives.

Paul's amazing vocal agility and expressive tenor voice put forth such a message that you can't help but want to know more. In his voice, there is happiness (Signed, Sealed, Delivered), spite (I Heard It Through The Grapevine), bitterness (Jesse's Girl), and hope (It's You). In his compositions, he tells the story of some of his experiences, both pleasant (Everything) and not (Needed More). It is these experiences that express themselves through his incredible improvisational skills, both in song and in between songs. Paul's experience provides Hookslide with critical guidance and confidence as they explore, innovate, and launch skyward.

Every Hookslide show features a unique story told by Paul. Come see what you've been missing.
